Sheppard’s Pie

  • 1 lb ground sirloin
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 teasponns natures seasons (salt, pepper, celery powder, garlic powder)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder or 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 pkg brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package frozen peas
  • garlic mashed potatoes (see recipe under side dishes or use 2 packages of prepared mashed potatoes.
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Preheat oven to 350

In large skillet brown grown sirloin with seasonings. When no longer pink, add 1 cup water and package of brown gravy mix. Stir and bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes, lower heat. Add frozen peas. Simmer 5 minutes. Spray 2 quart casserole with non-stick cooking spray. Pour burger mixture in casserole. Spread mashed potatoes over top of burger mixture. Cut butter into small chunks and place on top of potatoes. Back at 350 for 30 minutes or until potatoes show golden brown around edges. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes. Serve with french bread or garlic cheese biscuits.
